Julia Weems began her career by studying the relationship between Nonverbal Communication and Clothing at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study (New York University), focusing on disciplines such as Art History, Gender/Identity studies, Costume Design, Confection and Dance. She finished her professional training studying Fashion and Textile Design in the Instituto Europeo di Design (Barcelona).
During the past 10 years, she has worked continuously in the fashion and art industries, beginning her career as a freelance fashion stylist and costume designer for experimental arts events (performances, etc.) in New York. She has also worked extensively in the production of fashion shows, events, performances and parties, organizing and carrying out the production process. Her professional projects have allowed her to work in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Barcelona.
She possesses an understanding of political environments and world
cultures, most dramatically influenced by her experiences traveling
through Western Europe, Scandinavia, the continental United States and parts of Central/South America and Asia.
